
Meng Han Hsieh is an award-winning Taiwanese writer-director based in Manchester, UK. Her work amplifies the voices of women and underrepresented communities, exploring the complexities of human nature through character-driven stories.
She is a fellow of the Warner Bros. x Waterloo Road Directors Program and the ScreenSkills x Directors UK High-end TV New Directors Programme, and was a finalist at the 2020 IMDb New Filmmaker Awards. Her films have screened at festivals worldwide.
Her latest BFI-funded short, The Test, premiered at the BAFTA- and BIFA-qualifying Manchester Film Festival, winning Best Short Film at Hebden Bridge Film Festival and Best Writing at Women X Film Festival. It was also selected as one of ten finalists from over 11,750 submissions at the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards in Los Angeles.
Alongside her narrative work, Meng Han has directed commercials for clients including Disney, DFS, ASDA and more.
